Gloaming

An egregious conflict of the Late War, the later battle for Argin-Beta was little more than a skirmish between hard-pressed Partisan Imperial Guardsmen and the triumphant Charnel Guard – though the location had – for some reason that was redacted even during the war – become infamous amongst Orthodox observers some five years earlier in the war.

The presumed first battle was mentioned in Master Enoch's notorious Seas of Blood speech, which repeatedly noted the unrecorded events in the now-lost system. It is possible that the planet, like many others, was either mislabelled during the initial reports or intentionally renamed in order to throw off later treasure hunters and xenoarchaeologists.

That aliens professing allegience to the Eldar Dain-Mir were involved seems likely, according to later analysis of war-spoor by the xenobiologis Magos Hun of Coldforge – though the evidence for this was either also destroyed or re-labelled.

Indeed, beyond the lone pict-capture above and Enoch's highly-publicised speech, it would seem as though the first conflict never occurred – an example of the thoroughness with which information relating even tangentially to the False Primarch was obscured, destroyed and buried even during the war, let alone in the cataclysmic Great Redaction of the Ordo Redactus.
